Daenens and its over 16.500 employees form a large, warm-hearted family. A family that has grown considerably over the years. Twenty years ago, CEO Nico Daenens launched the first office of Dienstenaanhuis in Bruges. Expansions and takeovers of other companies soon followed suit. Today, Daenens has 5 offices spread throughout Belgium and has become one of the biggest players in the service voucher sector.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Group Daenens, Happyland is organised once again! Nico is happy to welcome employees to the three-day festival.

26 Aug

During the annual Waregem town fair, Nico officially opens the very first Daenens office in the presence of the mayor of Waregem, Kurt Van Ryckegem. It is the first office that is fully branded in the new Daenens house style.

On 19 August 2024, the service voucher companies Plus Home Services, GreenHouse, Dienstenaanhuis, Makkie, TS Wallonie, Glax and No Dust join forces to become Daenens. With 5 offices and more than 20 years of experience and knowledge, Daenens becomes the reference point in the service voucher industry.

Naturally, this also includes the launch of a new Happy magazine and a user-friendly, modern website!

Nico is happy to share his experience on the service voucher system in a panel discussion with other European countries during the EFSI fair in Paris.

2021

Creation of Prodienstencheques. To generate more respect for household helps and to highlight the service voucher sector, Daenens launches a new website: www.prodienstencheques.be.

2021

Nico considers it his duty to ask the general public and politicians to better appreciate the work of cleaning and domestic workers. To this end, Daenens organises a study day in September at De Punt business centre in Gentbrugge. Nico invites many testimonial witnesses, experts and politicians to reflect together on a number of specific, feasible proposals to meet the challenges of the service voucher sector. Frank Vandenbroucke, Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health and the founder of the service voucher system, attended digitally too, aiming to look for solutions together.

2020

Daenens continues to focus on job satisfaction. An extensive satisfaction survey is conducted in 2020 and attains a response rate of more than 50%. The average satisfaction score of 8.5/10 is significantly higher than comparable studies.

Happyland!

Nico celebrates Group Daenens' 15th anniversary with a festival, Happyland, for all employees. 4,000 visitors enjoy animations, workshops, artists, good food, tasting bars and singer Niels Destadsbader as top act in Park De Rode Poort in Bruges. No less than 150 volunteers make this event happen!

Daenens acquires GreenHouse, welcoming more than 3,500 new colleagues.

2017

Nico truly cares about the appreciation of household helpers. That is why we celebrate the annual cleaning help day, Dag van de Schoonmaak. In 2017, the website www.dayofcleaning.be is launched, where customers can leave a compliment that is then sent to their domestic worker via text message on the Dag van de Schoonmaak. The campaign, each time with a new theme, is repeated every year.

In Wallonia, Daenens strengthens its position with the creation of Titres Services Wallonie and the acquisition of MyEco Services and Net Entretien Tout.

Dienstenaanhuis reaches the 35th place in ‘Europe's 500 Job Creating Companies’ of family-owned growth companies. This is the highest ranked Belgian company, a great recognition.

2010

Nico is very committed to connect with his domestic workers. One of the ways to do so is by launching the employee magazine Happy at Dienstenaanhuis, a name chosen by two of our own domestic workers.

2006

From the start, Nico recognises the great importance of IT and good software to manage the household help schedules. He helps design a new planning system, which is further developed by Peter.

2005-2011

Dienstenaanhuis marks its 1,000th employee following the acquisition and integration of a number of service voucher companies between 2005 and 2011:

One year after its launch in Bruges, DienstenaanHuis expands to East Flanders, with the other Flemish provinces following soon.

Nico starts DienstenaanHuis at the same time as the launch of the service voucher system. From the start, he emphasises the importance of respect and appreciation for the job of domestic workers.
