How much does it cost to engage domestic help?
In Belgium, service vouchers are used as a means of payment with which private individuals can pay for domestic help.
Anyone can easily apply for service vouchers via provider Pluxee. Vouchers are subsidised by the government, which means that you, as a user, only pay part of the actual cost. This makes domestic help affordable:
• 1 service voucher = 1 hour of domestic help
• 1 service voucher = € 10 in Flanders, € 10.20 in Wallonia and € 11.40 in Brussels
Transparent costs
In addition to the service voucher, Daenens charges a small customer contribution fee per hour. This contribution fee covers costs that are not fully reimbursed by the government and varies according to the region where you live:
Flemish Region: € 1.90 per hour
Brussels-Capital Region: € 0.30 per hour
Walloon Region: € 1.00 per hour

This regional price variation is caused by the specific subsidy schemes and policy choices of the different regions. The purpose of service vouchers is to make domestic help more accessible, but its cost may vary, depending on your registered address and on your desired amount of vouchers.
You may ask your cleaner to help with normal household tasks, both indoor and outdoor.

Service vouchers or ‘titres-service’ have to be ordered by an issuing company that has been appointed by the regional governments in Belgium. At the time of publishing, the company Pluxee (formerly known as Sodexo) issues vouchers for the three regions in Belgium. Pluxee does not provide cleaning helps, that is what you can contact Daenens for.

As a service cheque company, Daenens believes it is important to provide high-quality services for our customers and to create opportunities for our household helps. That is why we want to be able to continue investing in the supervision, training, income and well-being of our many thousands of cleaners.
Unfortunately, the current financing model of home help with service cheques does not offer enough room for this. As a company, we cannot simply stand by and watch this situation passively from the sideline. Our domestic helpers and our customers are entitled to more. That is why we feel compelled to charge additional cost allowances.
