Suzan, Bilnur, Elis and Nurshen found more than just a job at Daenens - they found friendship too.
Are you looking for an employer where connection, respect and teamwork are at the heart of everything?
About our household help
Put Suzan, Bilnur, Elis and Nurshen together at a table and you can be sure to end up with a warm conversation filled with laughter. The four household helps from our Sint-Amandsberg office are colleagues, but above all, they are good friends. Or, as they put it themselves: “We’re a bit like family.”
Suzan has been with Daenens the longest. “Then the rest followed,” she says with a laugh. First Bilnur, then Elis and finally Nurshen.
Bilnur already knew Suzan and was looking for work. When Suzan told her that Daenens was looking for new household helps, she decided to apply. Elis got to know Suzan when they became neighbours. First they became friends, and later colleagues. Nurshen and Suzan met at the school gate because their daughters attend the same school.
That’s how the group gradually came together. It happened purely by chance, but today the four are almost inseparable.
A warm, close-knit group of friends
The four friends celebrate birthdays together, go out with the children and regularly spend time together. “Far too often,” they joke with a laugh.
During the summer, they often meet up in Rozebroeken Park. Everyone brings something to eat, the children play together and the women catch up. Simple moments that mean a lot to them. And their circle of friends extends beyond Sint-Amandsberg: they also have friends in other Daenens offices.
Within the group, everyone has their own role. According to the others, Suzan is “the manager” because she always organises everything. Bilnur is “the GPS”: she always knows the best way to get somewhere. Nurshen is the positive force of the group and is almost always cheerful and in a good mood. Elis is a little quieter, but makes sure all their special moments are captured on camera. “Sometimes we have to pose ten times,” the others laugh.
Always there for each other
Their friendship isn’t just about having fun together. They also know they can count on each other whenever they need support.
When Suzan temporarily couldn’t find childcare for her little boy, Bilnur’s husband stepped in without hesitation. That day, he looked after both his own son and Suzan’s.
At work, the four friends also help each other whenever they can. If someone is ill, the nursery is closed or something needs to change in the schedule, one message in their WhatsApp group is all it takes for them to start looking for a solution together.
They have also taken over each other’s clients during a pregnancy or whenever one of them temporarily needed some extra support.
A special team spirit
Their consultant Asmae also sees how strong the bond between the four friends is.
“It’s lovely to see how well they work together. There’s a strong team spirit and they spontaneously help each other whenever needed. Suzan often takes the lead when something isn’t immediately clear. If someone still has a free slot in their schedule, they even actively look for new clients together. That mutual trust and commitment is what makes them truly special.”
Being colleagues is wonderful. The fact that they mean so much to one another makes their story even more special. Suzan, Bilnur, Elis and Nurshen show just how valuable the connections we build at work and beyond can be.
Or, as they put it themselves: “We’re not just colleagues. We’re family.”
