KRC Harelbeke, where sport and community go hand in hand
In the media
On Wednesday 11 September, the football team of KRC Harelbeke was presented to the press and showcased their new jerseys by main sponsor and chairman Nico Daenens. Under his leadership since 2023, the club has not only been striving for athletic successes, but is also strongly committed to community engagement.
In the last year, KRC Harelbeke has been transformed on a sports and social level with initiatives such as free season tickets for the residents of Harelbeke and surrounding municipalities, to which 2,600 people have already subscribed. That concept is attracting the attention of other clubs as it significantly increases support for local clubs. The club also organises tournaments for G teams and a three-day youth tournament. During exam periods, local students are also allowed to study in its VIP room and the club even offers study support.
Alongside these great social projects, the sporting ambition remains equally high. Under its motto ‘One team, one dream’ and led by club manager Bart Daenens and trainer Kurt Delaere, the team is aiming for a return to the professional football league.
